At the Greenup Learning Center, Job Readiness classes are offered quarterly. Students learn topics ranging from test-taking skills, reading/writing/math, resume and job search, to interview skills. Each class is different and only students with the required attendance/participation can graduate. Current and/or former JRA students are encouraged to comment on their thoughts regarding the class. Everyday there is an opportunity to learn. I was expecting to be miserable and instead I’ve had fun and made a few friends. To any future JRA participants: try to keep an open mind. Debbie and the rest of the staff here that the center are great. All questions were welcome at any time and the staff uses a number of techniques when teaching.

This class has really changed my life. The staff here is wonderful and will work with you on anything that you may be struggling with. Before you leave this class you will become more confident in personal and business matters. The most important thing I've learned here is that no matter what happened in my life before now has led me to this program and the wonderful staff. They will push you and guide you, but they will be there for you.

JRA classes at Greenup rocks!!! I was able to review my basic college needs and was able to look some awesome job interviewing skills. I was able to complete the NCRC and Para Educator Certificates which will help me land a better job. I wasn’t looking forward this class at all because of all the horror stories I had heard. Now just days away from completing it, I don’t want it to end. I have made some great friends that was even there in an emergency I had come up. JRA really changes your life.

If a person makes excuses not to show up to the JRA program or makes excuses not finish it then they're just lazy. It has nothing to do with the JRA program itself. The JRA program is a great advantage in many different ways! Since I have started the program I have brushed up on information that I have already learned but forgotten, I have also learned to do resumes & applications, I have learned new techniques to help me make the transition back into college and so much more! The program has made me confident that I will make a better future for my child and myself. Other people that are in the program with you become like family because you all grow and learn so much together. The JRA program has been a good experience and I want to thank the staff for all their hard work, dedication and kind words for helping everyone succeed and putting us on a right track to follow our dreams. Without all the resources that the JRA program offers, I would still be sitting at home making up excuses about why I can't go back to school or afford daycare and such. Believe me, this program will help you out in many different ways!

JRA class has really been a blessing. Before I came into the JRA program I was really struggling to find work and make ends met for me and my daughter. But now with all that the program has offered me I now have the confidence and skills that I need to put forward in finding work. The staff is a really great group of women who are there to help you. I learned so much here like writing a resume and how to get through an interview. I have also brushed up on stuff that I learned in school but forgotten. The JRA program has been such a great experience and I have made so many new friends I don't want the program to end. Leave a Reply. |
